ABOUT

Still We Roar tells the stories of Kerry Davis, (England’s first Black female footballer), Mary Phillip, (England’s first Black female captain) and Hope Powell (first female manager for England). These three women are pioneers in the game. Their paths have crossed many times, most notably at the Women’s World Cup in Sweden 1995, where our play is set.
The 40-minute play will be performed in the Great Hall at Wembley Stadium on Thursday 26th October to celebrate Black History Month.
The show will be followed by a live Q&A with Kerry, Hope and Mary where they will comment on the show and add context to their stories.
Still We Roar is written by Naomi Denny, directed by Rasheka Christie-Carter and produced by Adrian Grant and Keah Forino-Joseph.
